6kg+ Cloth Nappies

About
The Snappit Pro cloth nappy system can be used from 5/6kg until potty training. This is an easy, snap in system that can be used by anyone. It is not suitable for newborns. From around three months, babies can wear one night nappy all night. The Snappit Pro can be used at night for light to medium wetters and day trained toddlers, if boosted with two to three boosters. If this leaks, it means baby has high output and requires the Siesta night nappy and night cover for night use. Babies usually have a high output until around the ten month mark so if you are buying a set at 6/7/8kg, get Siesta nappies too.
The Snappit Pro nappy cover cannot be used over Siesta nappies and vice versa.
How to assemble the nappy
Snap the insert into the cover. Add one to two or even three boosters in the cover to increase absorbency if the insert is 100% saturated or leaking. Adding boosters is key to successful cloth diapering without any leaks. Babies go through various stages of output and the first eight months is when output is the highest. Babies wee more in winter, so we often need to boost more during this time for example.
A fleece liner sits closest to the skin and serves two purposes. It keeps the baby’s skin dry and also catches solids. Disposable liners are also an option.

Changing cloth nappies
Babies from three months old are changed every three hours day time and can wear one night nappy for the entire night.
The Snappit Pro system
Day time: The nappy insert, liner and boosters are removed from the Snappit Pro cover and stored for washing. Nappy covers can be reused and rotated through the day. Hang the cover over a window to airdry and rotate three or four a day. Solids can be sprayed off into the toilet or discarded via a disposable liner.
Nighttime: Nappy insert and boosters are removed and all is washed after one nights wear.
Siesta night nappy and cover
The entire nappy and inserts are taken off to be washed. The night nappy cover is washed after one night`s wear.
How many nappies?
Full time (little to no disposables)
Single baby : 26 - 28 nappy changes. Nappy covers are reused. Wash every 2 days.
Twins: 30 - 40 nappies. Wash daily.
Part time (use disposables with your cloth nappies)
Single baby: 10 - 15 nappy changes. Nappy covers are reused. Wash daily when all used.
Twins: 20 - 26 nappies. Wash daily.
How to achieve the perfect fit
The Snappit Pro nappy
Cloth nappies sit snug around the waist. Think of when we sit in our jeans- a tummy bulging over is normal. The cover must not move around. A gap at the top is normal. Adjust the velcro tabs to a comfy position. This will change as they grow. At 5/6kg the tabs must overlap.
Boys - point his bits vertically down with the back of your hand, so he wees directly into the inserts. If he wees out to the side this will leak.
Push the fleece binding into the panty line and pull the binding on the tummy flap out all the way along, see image below. This is key especially for sitting babies.

The snaps will be all done up at 6kg. The crease at the snaps must be flapped over so your fingers push upwards not downwards. Watch the video here.
